Frequently Asked Questions
What is Zoho AI Agent Development?
Zoho AI Agent Development involves designing and building AI agents
that
can support specific business processes using Zoho's AI capabilities. Depending on the business
need, an agent can use business knowledge, tools, Zoho applications, APIs, and connected systems
to understand tasks and take the right actions.
What is Zia Agent Studio?
Zia Agent Studio is Zoho's environment for building, testing, and
deploying custom AI agents. It lets you define an agent's instructions, knowledge, tools,
connections, and other settings needed for your use case.
MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that provides a
consistent way for AI agents to connect with external applications, tools, and data. Zoho MCP
allows AI agents to connect with Zoho applications and supported third-party services, giving
them access to the tools and actions they need to complete business workflows.
Can you build custom Zia Agents?
Yes. We can help you define the use case, design the agent, configure its knowledge and tools,
connect it with the required systems, test it against real business scenarios, and support its
deployment
How do we get started with Zoho AI Agent Development?
Start with the business problem you want to solve. We can review the
process, identify where an AI agent could add value, determine which Zoho applications and
integrations are needed, and recommend a suitable proof of concept or implementation approach.
How long does it take to develop a Zoho AI agent?
The timeline depends on the agent's scope, complexity, knowledge
requirements, integrations, actions, and testing needs. A focused agent with a few integrations
may be completed much faster than an agent that needs to coordinate multiple business
applications and workflows.
Do you provide AI agent testing and deployment?
Yes. Testing and deployment can be part of the implementation. We test
the agent against relevant business scenarios, check its responses and actions, refine its
behavior, and support its launch in your production environment.
Can Claude be integrated with Zoho?
Yes. Claude can be integrated with Zoho through supported Zia Agents
configurations, APIs, and MCP-based connections. Zoho currently supports Claude through its AI
agent platform, and Zoho MCP is designed to connect AI agents such as Claude with Zoho
applications and supported third-party services.
Can Zoho AI agents connect with external applications?
Yes. Depending on the application and the use case, AI agent solutions
can connect with external systems through APIs, connectors, MCP, and other supported integration
methods. This allows an agent to work across multiple applications instead of operating inside a
single Zoho application.
Which AI platforms can you integrate with Zoho?
Our current focus includes Claude + Zoho. We can also evaluate
integrations involving OpenAI, Gemini, Zia, and other supported AI platforms based on your
business requirements. Zia Agents currently supports multiple model providers through
Zoho-managed and BYOK configurations.
Can you develop an AI agent for an existing Zoho Creator application?
Yes. We can assess your existing Zoho Creator application's data,
workflows, functions, and integrations to identify where an AI agent can add value. The goal is
to extend what you already have rather than rebuild the application from scratch
What happens if the agent gets something wrong?
This is where guardrails matter. We define clear escalation points
where
the agent hands a task to a human instead of guessing or taking an uncertain action. We can also
monitor agent performance after launch to identify issues, improve its behavior, and catch
problems early.
Do you only build agents, or do you also help us decide what to automate first?
Both. If you're not sure where to start, our Zoho AI Readiness Audit
can
help identify suitable AI opportunities, prioritize use cases, and determine which processes are
worth automating before you commit to a build.
Is my business data safe if we build AI agents on Zoho?
Zoho provides different model and data-processing options within Zia
Agents. When you use Zoho-hosted models, Zoho states that your data stays within Zoho's
infrastructure and that customer data is not used to train its AI models. Zia Agents can also be
configured to use external models through Zoho's Key System or your own API keys, in which case
the applicable provider's data-handling terms need to be considered.
We also apply permission controls and guardrails to each agent so you
can define what information it can access, what actions it can take, and when it should hand a
task over to a person.
